Beyoncé Opened Up About Parenting Blue Ivy During The Pandemic, And It's Too Relatable

"Blue is very smart, and she is aware that there is a shift."

ICYMI: My forever queen Beyoncé is the December cover star of British Vogue.

Inside the magazine, the "Savage" singer opened about everything, including what it has been like parenting her 8-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, during the pandemic.

When asked how her parenting has changed in the past few months, Yoncé said, "I have become a better listener. Blue is very smart, and she is aware that there is a shift, but it is my job as a parent to do my best to keep her world as positive and safe as can be for an 8-year-old."

She went on to give advice for other parents out there who are just trying to get through the rest of 2020 after months of protests and a global health crisis: "My best advice is to love [your children] harder than ever."

"I let my daughter know that she is never too young to contribute to changing the world. I never underestimate her thoughts and feelings, and I check in with her to understand how this is affecting her," the 39-year-old stated.

She continued, "[Blue] saw some of the reactions to the 'Brown Skin Girl' video, as well as some of the videos from the philanthropic work I’ve done this year. When I tell her I’m proud of her, she tells me that she’s proud of me and that I’m doing a good job. It’s teeeeeew much sweetness."

Bey added, "She melts my heart. I believe the best way to teach them is to be the example."

Elsewhere in the interview, Bey said she was "absolutely changed" by the events of 2020. "It would be difficult to experience life in a pandemic and the current social unrest and not be changed. I have learnt that my voice is clearer when I am still."

The Grammy Award winner also shared that she has been enjoying being at home with her three children — Blue and 3-year-old twins Sir and Rumi. "I truly cherish this time with my family, and my new goal is to slow down and shed stressful things from my life," she declared.
