Don't Freak Out, But Alex Trebek Is Taking A Medical Leave From "Jeopardy!"

Nothing but respect for MY game show host!!!!

I don't want to alarm anyone, but Alex Trebek, the beloved host of Jeopardy!, is taking a leave of absence from his hosting duties after undergoing brain surgery in December.

Trebek discussed his situation in a short video on the show's YouTube channel on Jan. 4, saying that he had an operation to remove a subdural hematoma that had formed after he had a bad fall in October.

But don't worry, Trebek, regal and noble as ever in a yellow sweater and Jeopardy! hat, assured everyone that his prognosis is "excellent."

He'll be back to the hosting podium in mid-January, and thanks to the show's taping schedule, which films episodes months in advance, you probably won't even realize he was gone.

Fans of Trebek, who's been the host of the TV game show for 34 years, immediately tweeted out their support after the news was announced.

    Feel better soon, Alex!
