Well, it turns out that naming their kid that isn't allowed in California.

TMZ spoke to a supervisor at the Department of Public Health Vital Records Office in Los Angeles, who confirmed it is against California law for symbols and numbers to be used in a name.

A family attorney also confirmed this to People magazine. "In California, you can only use the '26 characters' of the English language in your baby name," he explained. "Thus, you can't have numbers, Roman numerals, accents, umlauts, or other symbols or emojis. Although an apostrophe, for a name like 'O'Connor,' is acceptable."

So even if they wanted to call their kid X Æ A-12, the birth certificate would have to say something different, maybe just keeping X A. We'll have to see if the couple keeps the name somehow or finds a brand-new one.
