This 87-Year-Old May Be The Best, Most Canadian Neighbour In Canada

The antithesis of the "get off my lawn!" tale.

This is Joe Wideski. He is 87 years young, retired, and has been living on the same street in Richmond, British Columbia since 1974.

    * On garbage day, Joe will help to bring his neighbours' cans in.

    * When neighbours are out of town, he goes over and mows their lawn.

    * For emergency situations, he's been trusted with keys to nearby houses.

And when his neighbours have huge house parties, and space is limited on the narrow road, he turns his driveway into a parking lot — complete with parking lines he painted himself.

He even created a sign to enforce safe parking practices — then had it translated into Chinese for his Chinese neighbours.

And lined tires along the fence so cars wouldn't back into his neighbour's fence.

And when his driveway is full, he even lets people park on his front lawn.

As for the tire mark damages to his lawn? "Oh the grass, she comes back in three days. No problem,” he told local Richmond news.

    Love thy Canadian neighbour.
