Absolute Queen Lorde Decided To Take Out A Newspaper Ad After Her Grammys Snub

In the wake of the Grammys controversy, Lorde's having the last word.

The 2018 Grammys wasn't without its controversy. Not only were women severely underrepresented in all areas of the ceremony, Recording Academy President, Neil Portnow, responded to the claims by saying women need to "step up" if they want to be recognised in the industry.

Amongst the issues, there was also backlash around the fact that the male nominees for Album of the Year all received a solo performance...yet the one female artist nominated, Lorde, did not.

Well, Lorde isn't taking any of this silently. Not only did she tweet that she could "murder" a stage, she rocked a statement dress at the awards.

And now she's taken out an advert in a New Zealand newspaper to thank the people who do believe in female artists.

Full-page letter from @lorde in today's @nzherald: 'Thank you, also, for believing in female musicians'

While thanking fans for embracing Melodrama, the singer also wrote: "My nomination belongs to you. Thank you, also, for believing in female musicians. You set a beautiful precedent!"

    You're a bloody legend, Lorde.
