1. When people talk about some ridiculously named Indie band you've never heard of in your entire life while you feel ashamed of jamming to top 40 on mainstream radio.

2. When people around you get in really heated debates on some random detail on a certain issue in politics on something you've only heard about from a late night talk show that one time.

3. When people talk about Breaking Bad but you've only seen memes of it on tumblr and pretend to laugh even when no one is around.

4. When people talk about really old things that are so old that they are cool again like their type writer or vinyl records or black and white silent film.

5. When people talk about the next new thing while you are still satisfied with your working phone from a year ago.

6. When people talk about all the parties they have to go to while you're just excited to be home by yourself for two days doing nothing but eat, sleep, and stare at screens.

7. When people have a long ass coffee order mocha choca latte cappu frappecino please...I'll just have an ice water.

8. When people say their favorite movie is a movie from the 80s and you agree even though you never understood why everyone was so obsessed with The Breakfast Club.

9. When you try to catch on to the latest dance craze and it always ends up failing miserably. Soldier boy, dougie, gangnam style, twerking, it never ends.

10. Finally, when you become friends with someone you know is way cooler than you and they're actually ok with letting you be your weird normal self.
