Response to Guillermo Del Toro’s Opening For "The Simpsons" Halloween Episode Is The Best Thing On The Show In Years:
Okay - so this is rocking cool for all of us horror geeks. I’m going to have to DVR this sucker and watch it for sure. I saw Rod Serling, Ray Bradbury, Edgar Allan Poe, HP Lovecraft’s Cthulhu, all of the Universal Horror monsters, Ray Harryhausen’s Cyclops, Romero’s Land of the Dead or was it World War Z, Del Toro’s Hellboy, Del Toro’s Mimic, Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, Del Toro’s Blade 2, Del Toro’s Kronos, Hitchcock’s The Birds, Stephen King’s The Shining, Phantom of the Opera, Phantom of Paradise, Alice in Wonderland, Anthony Zerbe in The Omega Man, and somebody who looked like George Carlin whom I could not figure, the big black Cadillac from the movie The Car, Harryhausen’s Ymir from 20000 Leagues to Earth, the skeletons from Jason and the Argonauts, Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet, Hitchcock’s sketched silhouette, a UFO and I think I saw the Death Star, Lon Chaney Sr. in London After Midnight, Gort from The Day The Earth Stood Still, Vincent Price as The Fly, Nosferatu, the freaks from Freaks, two green-headed aliens whom I recognized but could not remember what movie they came from, the Grim Reaper and a gravedigger, and a bit of Poltergeist. Did I miss anything? And more importantly - shouldn’t I be writing???
