Kelly Clarkson was walking the red carpet at the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday, when she stopped to give an interview to Extra. But Kelly quickly became distracted when she realized who was standing right behind her: CHER.
"I hear Cher right now. I hear Cher," she whispers to the interviewer, freaking out. "She's right behind me right now. I can't even talk about it. I've never met her."
"No! Don't do anything, either. It'll make me so nervous. I'll wanna cry."
While Kelly and the interviewer keep talking about it in hushed tones, you can see Cher in the background, completely oblivious to what's going on.
"We're not talking about it. We're totally fine. I'm fine," she says, trying to calm herself down.
But then, the two cross paths, and their exchange is amazing.

Oh, hi. Hi, I'm Kelly Clarkson. Nice to meet you. I've never met you. I've been talking about you the whole time, going, "She's right behind me!" I'm a big fan. Obviously. Everyone is here. I'm gonna stop talking. Okay. Yeah, I'm a little...[makes an unintelligible noise]. I get very nervous.
"I'm so happy to meet you," Cher replies.
And after Cher walked away, Kelly's freakout continued.
"Oh my god. I'm sweating even more. I'm sweating...This is like when I met Meryl Streep!"
