Hooooooo boy. You're gonna want to sit down for this one.
Okay. So. You've probably heard that John Cena and Nikki Bellacalled off their engagement last month. Fans were very sad about it, myself included!
Well, John and Nikki sat down for separate interviews on the Today show this week, and when asked about their recent breakup, neither one held back. Like, at all.
John's interview came first, when he was a guest host on Monday. He was visibly upset throughout the segment, and fought back tears multiple times.
John made it clear — repeatedly — that he did not want this breakup, that Nikki is the one who ended things, and that he hopes the two will get back together someday.
"I had my heart broken out of nowhere — or, for me, it was out of nowhere," he told Hoda and Kathie Lee.
"I don't want anybody else. I love Nicole, and I'm really trying to support her in her trying to find whatever it is that she wants that made this fall apart in the first place."
He says part of their breakup was because she wanted kids and he didn't — but he's since realized that "of course" he would have kids if it's important to her.
Toward the end of the segment, he looked straight into the camera and addressed the viewers directly: "I love her. I want to be with her. I want to make her my wife. I want to be the father of her children. I just want us to work."
HOKAY. So that's a lot to take in! But he wasn't done there. The next day, he returned to his guest hosting stint and doubled down on his sentiments.
"I did what I did yesterday for one person, and one person only."
He explained that he just wanted Nikki to hear him and that he doesn't care about anything else.
"Here are my cards. They're on the table," he said.
Well, folks...guess who was a guest on Today the very next morning? NIKKI. She told Kathie Lee and Hoda that she was "so shocked" when she watched the clips.
"He's my best friend. But I think a lot of us that go through the wedding planning process, I think we kind of have to face all these issues that we have just hiding deep down inside," she explained.
"Before I do say those vows and walk down that aisle, I just don't want to be hesitant, I don't want to be regretful."
Hoda and Kathie Lee then asked Nikki to watch back a highlights reel of John's most emotional statements, which is actually an insane thing to do but we're all in too deep at this point so whatever!!! Nikki made lots of faces like this:
"I definitely have hope. I really do," Nikki said after watching back the clips, much to Kathie Lee and Hoda's delight.

This is all very messy and very, very extra. But I'm not gonna lie. I'm sort of living for it???
