Céline Dion Returned To Her Las Vegas Show Last Night And Made A Speech That Left People In Tears

"I never start the show like this."

Céline Dion returned to her Las Vegas show last night, just a few miles away from the horrific mass shooting that took 59 lives and injured more than 500 others.

But instead of proceeding with the show as planned, Céline came out before the curtain rose and spoke frankly with the audience about the tragedy — and her message was incredibly powerful:

"Before we start the show, I need to talk to you for a minute," Céline began. "I never start the show like this, standing in front of the curtain just talking. But tonight is very different."

She then acknowledged the difficult decision that she and her audience had to make that night, about whether or not to come to show.

"The reason I decided to do the show so soon is more than to just sing. It is to show love and support for those who are affected."

"They are going to need a lot of love," Céline said. "A ton of emotional support, as well as a great deal of financial aid."

"So I want you to know that the proceeds for tonight's show are being donated to the victims' families on your behalf," she announced to a standing ovation.

Céline dedicated her performance to the victims and their families, as well as the first responders, doctors, nurses, and other heroes who saved lives that night. She then began her show.

Much love to Céline and the city of Las Vegas. ❤️
