And for all the fans back home in the U.S.

So extremely happy and proud of our USA Gymnastics team! Epic job ladies!!! #FinalFive #TeamUSA #winning https://t.co/JujKyluq3G

But some people are attacking Douglas online for having her hands by her sides instead of placing one hand on her heart during the national anthem at the medal ceremony.

And that people clearly are focusing on the wrong things.

Gabby Douglas puts her entire life on hold to train & represent our country, then wins us gold medals. Leave her be. https://t.co/WWF9IafIoR

Douglas addressed the trolls on Tuesday, writing on Twitter that she never meant to offend anyone.

#GoUSA❗️ #TeamUSA❗️ #FinalFive❗️ 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

She wrote:

In response to a few tweets I saw tonight, I always stand at attention out of respect for our country whenever the national anthem is played. I never meant any disrespect and apologize if I offended anyone. I’m so overwhelmed at what our team accomplished today and overjoyed that we were able to bring home another gold for our country.

Douglas's mom, Natalie Hawkins, also responded to those defending Douglas on Twitter.

Douglas will next compete for a medal in the uneven bars final.
