    Happy, Birthday, Barcode! (Not Really)

Google decided to celebrate the 57th birthday of the barcode by making ANOTHER 'Google Doodle'. Woo. Hoo. Technically it's not even that -- The scannable UPC barcode didn't premiere until June 26, 1974 when a supermarket in Troy, Ohio scanned a pack of Juicyfruit gum. (Mmmm ... Juicyfruit ... Ahhhhh.) Google's starting to remind me of a poster that I had in college that gave an excuse to party on any day of the year. What's next, Google? Twilight Zone turns 50 (10/25)? 3-D Movies turn 57 (11/27)? Bowling Ball turns 147 (12/29)?
