Reality: Filing. And more filing.
Expectation: Finally being financially independent.

Reality: Taking coffee orders from everyone in your department.
Expectation: Waking up ready to take on the world.
Reality: A progressive realization that this day will be your day for the rest of your life.
Expectation: Lunch breaks with your like-minded colleagues.
Reality: A five minute lunch break at your desk.
Expectation: Meeting your new friends for life.
Reality: Office politics.
Expectation: Becoming a motivated, together, mature career woman.
Reality: Still having no idea what you're doing.
Expectation: Sophisticated office happy hours.
Reality: A personal acceptance that you'll be drinking alone a lot.
Expectation: A company-wide business trip to a conference in Vegas.
Reality: Staying in the office during a company-wide conference in Vegas.
Expectation: Kicking ass at important presentations.
Reality: Having to earn respect.
Expectation: Making a difference in the world on a daily basis.
Reality: A desk job that ends at 5pm Friday. Sharp.
