Cardi B And Azealia Banks Are Fighting Again And It's A Fucking Shit Show

::pops popcorn and pulls up a chair::

Alright, fam. Ready for some drama? Here, we have rappers Cardi B and Azealia Banks.

There's been bad blood between the two of them ever since last September, when Azealia openly criticized Cardi's music, intelligence, and called her the "poor man's Nicki Minaj."

Cardi responded by sharing a video of Azealia in a club, dancing to "Bodak Yellow," and wrote "One of the reasons Bodak Yellow went #1 cuz even the HATERS LOVE IT!!"

Well, the two are at again and this time it's a doozy. Let me break it down for you:

In a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Azealia discussed the current state of female rap and said, β€œThere was just this really, really, really intelligent conversation going on nationally and then everything just kind of changed, and then it was, like, Cardi B.”

She clarified and said that she wasn't referring to Cardi's music or what she rapped about, but that she was "talking about this caricature of a black woman that black women themselves, would never be able to get away with."

She continued, "If my spelling and grammar was that bad, I’d be canceled... I just don't understand the extreme lack of couth. I've never seen that at the forefront of rap. I didn't know that the standards...the bar...would be lowered so much."

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Cardi clapped back, saying "I'm from the hood. I speak how I speak, I am how I am. I did not choose to be famous, people chose me... I never asked to be an example or a role model..."

She responded again, this time addressing Azealia's claims about her intelligence:

You think because someone uses a lot of big words and long sentences that makes them smart!? How smart are you if you don't know that the meaning of illiterate means to not know how to read or write. I can do both, and speak two languages fluently. Just because I mix a few words up, forget to use commas, or misspell a few words doesn't make me illiterate, and doesn't make me stupid. And, because I laugh a little harder or talk a little louder doesn't make me a caricature!

I see Cardi out here serving Azealia Banks!!!! ✊✊✊✊

THEN, after a series of tweets, Cardi made her Twitter account private and deleted her Instagram, entirely.

Now, Cardi's new social media status could be in response to criticism of her new song collaboration. Or, perhaps it's part of a common celebrity promotion strategy. Regardless, the timing is pretty interesting.

You'd think that'd be the end of it, but NOPE. Azealia shared a photo of Cardi on her own Instagram, writing "You and whoever wrote this reply for you don’t have the intelligence to engage in this not-so-complex discussion."

"I spoke about it for all of two minutes in an interview and you respond by calling me unattractive, mentioning my bleaching my skin, and telling me to 'suck your ass', immediately proving yourself to be exactly who I thought you were..."

Her full post is soooooooo much longer than that, but you can read the whole thing here.
