Last week, Twitter user @hanxine asked Disney fans a very interesting question: Out of David and Nani from Lilo and Stitch, Mulan and Li Shang from Mulan, Tiana and Prince Naveen from Princess and the Frog, and Jasmine and Aladdin from Aladdin, which Disney couple is the best?

But it was @_melmoney's tweet that sparked a heated debate.
David stuck around through it all with Nani. He helped take care of Lilo. He bought them groceries, got Nani a job, and a cell phone so she could call Lilo at home to check up on her. AND THEY WEREN’T EVEN DATING YET. https://t.co/nJ0cbhjZHt
At first, most people agreed with @_melmoney's original analysis and, TBH, I was quick to agree myself.
But just when I was ready to declare Nani and David the winners, someone made a surprisingly accurate observation.
@_melmoney What did Nani ever do for David ? You are just talking about one side of the relationship, that doesn’t make the best couple 🤔
Plus, were they even a couple in the first place?? Did they date? Weren't they just friends? Don't @ me, but I think that disqualifies them.
I jumped ship and started rooting for Prince Naveen and Tiana. I mean, they were in love AS FROGS. If loving someone even when they're slimy and amphibious doesn't make you a strong couple, then I don't know what does.
But then all hell broke loose because Tiana is an independent woman WHO DON'T NEED NO MAN!

@_melmoney Navine was jobless while waiting for his music career to blow up. Meanwhile Tiana worked 2 jobs until she owned her own shop that he was halfway helping in. It's a divorce court episode waiting to happen.
You know what? Forget Tiana and Naveen. Mulan and Li Shang are clearly the only option. That's unconditional love, people!
@_melmoney @HannLee8 I’d say Mulan and Shang. Both of them were strong and were willing to give up their lives for each other (in a non-romantic sense) and their country. And let’s not forget that Shang was kinda into Mulan when he technically thought she was a man. 😏Nothing changed.
Although, attempted murder is pretty serious...
@_melmoney @Delendarius Shang is not even playing in the same league. He almost BEHEADED Mulan and then left her to freeze in Tung Shao pass. He didn’t even apologize. The emperor saw right through his BS.
Damn it! Just when I thought I had it figured out. But, you know what? At least I can take Aladdin and Jasmine off the list completely. I mean, HE LIED. A LOT.
The original four aren't cutting it anymore. What about Meg and Hercules?
