First things first: There are spoilers below.
Now, with that being said...they did Natasha fucking dirty in Endgame.
As we all know, Black Widow and Hawkeye went to Vormir to retrieve the Soul Stone, which is an eye-for-an-eye type of situation — meaning one of them had to sacrifice themself.
Now, I'm not mad about Natasha dying. Don't get me wrong, it was sad. I was never particularly invested in her character, but when she died I freaking SOBBED.
No, my problem lies in what happened after Natasha died. Or rather what didn't happen. Namely, she never got a funeral!!!!
i hope the black widow movie is about natasha ghost haunting those fuckers for not giving her funeral
Look, this has nothing to do with Tony. I get it. He was Iron Man. We started and ended this generation of the MCU with him. He was in the battle with Thanos. Blah blah blah. That's great. He totally deserved a funeral.
the avengers didn’t love natasha as much as she loved them and it truly hurts my heart. she tried so hard for five whole years to get everybody back. she never gave up. and then she gave up her own life to save their lives, and they didn’t even give her a funeral. unbelievable.
But Nat? She got nothing! No funeral. No plaque. No one lifting a sword, shouting, "For Natasha!" during the final battle. Hell, I'm pretty sure her body is still on Vormir.
natasha really just got a bench in the water while tony got a whole funeral??? i’m sorry but nat deserves so much better than this.

In an interview with the New York Times, Endgame screenwriter Christopher Markus said, "Tony gets a funeral. Natasha doesn’t. That’s partly because Tony’s this massive public figure and she’s been a cipher the whole time. It wasn’t necessarily honest to the character to give her a funeral."

In a separate interview, co-director Joe Russo said, "Did you forget when the heroes where mourning for her after when they returned from past? Maybe her funeral happened off screen. Maybe it will be shown in future installment, because there are still tons of stories in MCU that are waiting to be tell."
On the other hand, some fans are happy that Natasha didn't have a funeral and are hoping that means she could still be alive.
