They are such majestic birds. Just look at their adorably animated faces and colourful beaks. They have a lot going for them!
They are fearless and have spectacular webbed feet. I mean, they are basically chubby flying penguins!
But I've noticed something.... something terrible.
Puffins always look SAD. Like, really, really sad.
Don't think so? Let's try that again, except this time, in black and white.
Look at this sad puffling. Yes, that's right. Baby puffins are called "pufflings." I know, I know. It'll be OK.
And just when you thought it couldn't get any sadder, it does. Puffins are also known as "the clowns of the sea." Yes, that's right. Puffins are sad clowns.
So the next time you see a puffin, tell them that they are beautiful, worthy, special birds. Give them a gentle pat on the wing and a smile. We love you, puffins. Never forget that.
