For Anyone As Obsessed With "Heartstopper" As Me, Here's Everything You Need To Know About The Cast

I'm already obsessed.

🚨 Warning: there are some mild spoilers ahead for Season 1 of Heartstopper. 🚨

If you aren't already in love with Heartstopper, I must say, I'm a little disappointed. The brand new series just dropped on Netflix, and it's the wholesome queer fairytale we all need right now!

Whether you've finished it, you haven't started, or you're halfway through, I thought it would be handy to show off the main cast side by side with the characters they play:

1. Joe Locke as Charlie Spring

Charlie is 14 at the start of the series and is in his tenth year at school. He's a bit shy and introverted, but he's also intensely creative and caring. Charlie came out some time before the events of Heartstopper and he had a rough time with bullies. Now he's ready to put all that behind him and find his feet at school.

2. Kit Connor as Nick Nelson

Nick is the star rugby player at school and beloved by everyone, yet he still manages to be totally humble and super kind to others! At the start of the series, Nick knows who he is, but meeting Charlie and becoming his friend makes him question what he wants and who he wants to be.

3. Yasmin Finney as Elle Argent

Elle was once a student at Truham Grammar School, but now she attends Harvey Greene Grammar School, or Higgs. Suddenly separated from her best friends, Elle finds it difficult to fit in at first, but soon finds her groove.

4. William Gao as Tao Xu

Tao is good friends with Charlie and Elle and is fiercely protective of them both. He pretty much shuns everyone else and actively dislikes participating in big social outings and school sports (relatable). Tao isn’t afraid to stand up for what he believes in, no matter who opposes him.

5. Corinna Brown as Tara Jones

Tara is a popular girl at Higgs, but don’t get it twisted, she’s also super nice. She becomes very close with Elle, whom she introduces to Darcy, and soon they are all thick as thieves! Tara also knows Nick from time gone by.

6. Kizzy Edgell as Darcy Olsson

Darcy is another Higgs student who befriends Elle, and later, Elle’s friends as well. She is close with Tara, and the pair seem to hold more than just a ~friendly~ affection for one another.

7. Tobie Donovan as Isaac Henderson

I'm not gonna lie, for most of the series Isaac is just sort of there. He's good friends with Tao, Charlie, and Elle, and he seems to enjoy reading quite a lot!

8. Sebastian Croft as Ben Hope

Ben is in the year above Charlie. He secretly hits on him as soon as he learns Charlie is gay (before the events of Heartstopper). Poor Charlie doesn't realise at first that Ben is a bit of a fuckboi, and convinces himself that they are boyfriends. Unfortunately, Ben is only interested in secret rendezvous with Charlie.

9. Cormac Hyde-Corrin as Harry Greene

Harry is pretty much your standard high school bully — vapid, immature, and mindlessly mean to others. He picks on Charlie and Tao, and he picked on Elle before she left. Initially, Nick and Harry are mates, which puts considerable strain on Nick's blossoming friendship with Charlie.

10. Rhea Norwood as Imogen Heaney

Imogen is a sweet little thing who has a major, if not slightly unrequited, crush on Nick. They do seem to have a good rapport though, which is cute!

11. Jenny Walser as Tori Spring

Charlie's older sister is mostly a background character in the show, but interestingly, she was actually the first-ever character created by Heartstopper author, Alice Oseman, in her debut novel, Solitaire (in which Nick and Charlie also appeared in). Tori is reserved, a little unusual, but she has a lot of love to give.

12. Fisayo Akinade as Mr. Ajayi

Mr. Ajayi is the art teacher at Truham. In the year before Heartstopper is set, he would often let Charlie take refuge in his classroom, and would help and advise him on how to deal with bullies. Mr. Ajayi has great vibes, and is like an older queer mentor to Charlie, which is very cute.

Fisayo is too cool for social media.

13. Olivia Colman as Nick's mum
