In an effort towards becoming more tech-savvy, the Pune Municipal Corporation joined Instagram a couple of months ago.
And on the face of it, it seems like any other government-run account.
It posts photos of inaugurations, sights and sounds around the city, and PSAs.
But then you look at the handles being followed by the corporation and you start to wonder, who is actually running this account?
Among the handles being followed by the account is lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret.
And millionaire playboy Dan Bilzerian.
In fact, of its 70 followees, shockingly few, if any, are related to the city of Pune.
The internet, of course, is most amused by the discovery.
A member of the corporation's Public Relations Office told dna that the account is handled by a third-party IT company.
"Here we do not know how to use Instagram. Very few must be on Instagram at all," he added.
The account has now purged itself and unfollowed everyone in the list.
Oh, well.
