Mumbai Police Have Officially Taken A Stand Against Pokémon Go, Using A GIF

The campaign's tagline is "Pokémon CAN'T go... Out on the streets... Causing distraction!"

It's only been a couple of weeks since Pokémon Go released and took over the gaming world, but it has already caused a bunch of IRL accidents around the globe.

While it hasn't officially released in India yet, people have found ways to start playing here too.

The Mumbai Police, being the cool cats that they are, decided to get ahead of the game by issuing a GIF warning to the public against playing Pokémon Go on the roads.

Life is not a game. Especially not one to be played on the roads! #RoadSafety

While their intentions can't be questioned, it should be noted that the (hilariously inaccurate) GIF itself literally has a cop doing the exact same thing they're warning the public against.

Also, the campaign slogan is a bit convoluted, to say the least.

There are people who are completely on board with the message, though. Maybe a little too much.

@MumbaiPolice absolutely Agree !!! I support banning Pokemon

While others felt that their priorities were a *little* questionable.

@MumbaiPolice wish you could catch criminals like how I catch Pokemons

@MumbaiPolice LOL, for a city which can't even stop bikers from riding on the footpath, this looks really lame and uncalled for. 😂😂😂
