During the "Women In The World" summit in New Delhi on November 20, Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani came under flak for certain comments she made about how much freedom women enjoy in India.
She was quoted as saying, "In India, I don’t think any woman here is dictated what to wear, how to wear, whom to meet, when to meet. I am of the opinion, I don’t think anybody is dictated here, you are not told."
A lot of people disagreed with her statements.
The following morning, on November 21, Deccan Herald slyly featured Irani's quote above one from Benjamin Franklin.
And the trollage did not go unnoticed.
It should be noted that this isn't even the first time Deccan Herald has used Benjamin Franklin to troll an Indian politician.
