I Can't Stress This Enough: Taylor Swift's "Cruel Summer" Needs To Be Her Next Single

    Tea is T.

2 + 2 = 4, the earth is round, and Red should've won a Grammy. In other words, facts are facts.

Well, let me spit another fact at you: "Cruel Summer" — the second track on the masterpiece that is Lover — needs to be the next single.

For starters, it's one of the best tracks on the album — if not THE best.

I mean, the lyric "Devils roll the dice / Angels roll their eyes" is one of her best. The sass, the cleverosity (yes, I made up that word) of it all.

The bridge of “Cruel Summer” puts the Golden Gate and Brooklyn bridges to hideous shame.

I mean, look at the material. The ENTIRE bridge — especially the scream-y part I underlined — is perfection.

And Taylor, Jack Antonoff, and Annie Clark aka St. Vincent did not create this magnificent piece of music for it to not have a video.

This fan's edit showed what that could look like, and I'm shaking...uncontrollably. WOW.

"It's newww, the shape of your body, it's blueeeee." Ugh, it's just so good.

"I LOVE YOU! Ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?!"

Turns out I'm not the only one with taste and common sense:

Taylor Swift could do Symphony No. 9 but Beethoven couldn't do the bridge in Cruel Summer

Ok, I've said what I needed to say. Do you agree with me? Let me know!
