This College Kid Flipped Off Alex Trebek And/Or America On "Jeopardy!"

"I'll take flipping the bird for $500, Alex."

This is Viraj Mehta, a math and computer science major at Stanford University who was on Thursday night's episode of Jeopardy! College Championship.

Well, during the meet-the-contestant segment, Viraj talked about differential geometry (aka who cares). But turns out, he created an actual formula about pizza:

"HEY VIRAJ, BET YOU WONT GIVE THE MIDDLE FINGER ON JEOPARDY!" viraj:

Jeopardy! recently deleted the video clip of Viraj from its official Twitter account.

And while talking about his formula, Viraj did something odd with his fingers.

    HOLD UP.

HE JUST FLIPPED OFF ALEX AND AMERICA.

And it lasted for about six to seven seconds, which is like 10 hours in TV time.

    Yup.

    NO FUCKS GIVEN.

    WELL ACTUALLY NEVER MIND.

    Some people loved it.

    Others were not amused.

But the real question is: Was it intentional? Some thought it was probably a bet:

On Wednesday, Viraj told the Daily Caller, "It was what I would call a beautiful accident."

But his tweet, which was responding to a video of the act, suggests otherwise.

We'll never know for sure, but we have a good idea. At least Viraj got to talk about pizza, flip the bird, and advance to the next round of the tournament.
