My Mom And I Got Diamond Glow Facials From A Celebrity Aesthetician, And It Was Everything

Yep, it literally uses a diamond to exfoliate your skin.

Meet Edyta from Shafer Clinic Fifth Avenue. She's probably one of the most well-known aestheticians in the city. Celebs, influencers, and beauty editors are always posting about how amazing Edyta — and the famous DiamondGlow Facial — is.

Edyta does a bunch of celebs' facials — like Madonna and Kesha, who have publicly talked about her. However, when I asked for her to reveal more celebs, she said she couldn't because of her strict confidentiality policy.

However, celeb plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer, who runs Shafer Clinic, said a lot of celebrities stop by for the DiamondGlow Facial before doing red carpet events, like the Met Gala. Of course, I had to try it.

And who better to accompany me to a luxurious facial than my mom!

My mom is a 65-year-old recently retired postal carrier. She worked at the Jersey Shore for 30+ years, doing manual labor daily and often working in blistering heat and grueling icy weather.

All this is to say — this queen and her skin deserved to be pampered.

As for me and my skin, I get a lot of genetics-related redness, irritation from shaving, and some acne here and there. Here are some unedited pics of my skin prior:

Now, let's get into the Diamond Facial. Keep in mind, some of this has some scientific jargon, so I asked Edyta — who has her master's in engineering — to explain it.

First, as with any facial, we cleansed our faces. Then, it was time for the literal diamond to hit our skin. "DiamondGlow uses a real diamond to gently exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin," Edyta said.

"actually used on skin applicator to exfoliate"

"Its three-in-one technology is capable of simultaneously exfoliating the skin, extracting impurities, and infusing skin with professional-grade SkinMedica Pro-Infusion Serums, tailored to address different skin concerns."

"I used the Even and Correct serum and HA5 hyaluronic acid serum. One of the best things about DiamondGlow is that you can safely treat delicate skin around eye area and lips where skin in these particular areas is prone to wrinkles and volume loss." As you can see, I deal with some redness from shaving frequently — and also because of, like, genes. So this serum infusion really helps with that.

Edyta then used HA in this applicator, which also kind of suctions, to my lips. It immediately plumped them up, and was definitely my favorite part.

"And then, I uesd high pressure oxygen infusion — the delivery of high-pressured oxygen to the skin improves blood circulation, while serums provide deep hydration, all of which results in visibly plumper skin."

Next up was OxyLight. "Biosonix Ultrasound with red LED was used for tightening the skin and the capability to deliver serums and nutrients through the skin via a process known as phonophoresis."

Next up was LED Light Therapy and Negative Ionized Oxygen. "LED light therapy is beneficial for all skin types, and when combined with negative ions, it will give you an amazing glow afterwards with calmer and more hydrated skin. Plus, the oxygen kills the bacteria on your skin helping with breakouts as well as preventing them."

After all this, Edyta remoisturized us, and we were done! We were glowwwwwwwwwing by the end. Here's both of us after, unedited:

Here are some before and afters in the same spot, same lighting, unedited. As DiamondGlow says, "After one in-office treatment, skin appears brighter, fresher, healthier, smoother, clearer with unclogged pores, and more even in tone. And beyond, there's improved appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, roughness, dryness, dark spots, and discoloration."

Thank you, Edyta! You can follow her here, and you can book a DiamondGlow at Shafer Clinic Fifth Avenue here. You can also buy the at-home versions of these serums from SkinMedica here.

I received these treatments for free, but it did not impact my review. These are my personal, honest thoughts about the treatment.

I'd love to know what you thought. Keep in mind, you're commenting on the face and appearance of a real person, so be nice. :) Bye, y'all!
