18 Things I'm Sick Of Teachers Doing

    It's not right.

    1. They grade papers AFTER hours. I mean, HOW DARE THEY work all day long and then work more at home?!

    2. They work unpaid overtime.

@WilkesAcademy teachers working overtime for our show

    3. Like, they stay after their working hours to give students extra help.

Our awesome Technology TOSA, @MissStephens711 is here today for "office hours" supporting #carreoncomets teachers with their teacher tablets.

    4. They buy their own supplies.

    5. They pay for decorations, too.

    6. They entertain students/make learning fun.

    7. They answer angry emails from parents:

    8. They offer their homes:

@Chas10Buttigieg I came out to my parents in 5th grade and before I did my teacher made sure I knew if it went badly I could live with her. Throughout my years at that school she always protected me.

    9. They teach things that aren't in the curriculum:

@Chas10Buttigieg Taught me how to be confident when raising my hand and sharing my opinions/answers. I used to be super scared and timid at the thought of raising my hand.

    10. And they give away things, knowing they'll probably never get them back:

    11. They go to mandatory meetings on non-teaching days:

    12. They repeat themselves constantly:

    13. They attend their students' extra-curricular events:

@Chas10Buttigieg In 5th grade, I told my teacher that my brother and I were going to put on a stunt show in our cul-de-sac on Saturday morning. Right on time, on his day off, he drove up in his Mustang, watched us do really stupid things on bikes and big wheels, clapped and cheered.

    14. They buy expensive clothes for work.

Spent two hundred dollars today on “professional clothing”... why don’t i own clothes i can wear to teach?? Also why are teacher clothes so expensive???!

    15. They host back-to-school nights and conferences for parents, which takes a lot of planning and preparation.

    16. They go out of their way to make learning materials like study guides, worksheets, etc.

    17. They plan field trips and out-of-classroom extra-activities:

@hhscluster THANK teachers that plan/organize field trips! It's a huge extra burden, but they understand the payoff! https://t.co/lnQEex4UQJ

    18. And lastly, they do this all because they love what they do and they love their students:

Thank you, teachers. We don't deserve you! (And side note: those who are in charge of paying teachers/giving them money, let's get it together and give them more. Bye!)
