Shortly after Australia won the first ever women's rugby Olympic gold on Monday night, something even more special happened.
After the medal ceremony ended, Rio volunteer Marjorie Enya entered the pitch looking for her girlfriend, Brazilian player Isadora Cerullo.
When Cerullo realised what was happening, she burst into tears.
She said yes.
And the crowd went wild.
"As soon as I knew she was in the [Brazilian] squad I thought I have to make this special," Enya told the BBC. "She is the love of my life."
"The Olympic Games can look like closure but for me it's starting a new life with someone," Enya said. "I wanted to show people that love wins."
Ugh. I love love.
