21 Smart Ways To Multitask Like A Boss

Kill two birds with one stone in your daily routine.

    Chris Ritter / BuzzFeed

    1. Clean your shower while you're still in it.

Wipe it down with a mix of Dawn soap and vinegar to keep it sparkling clean. Get the instructions here.

    2. Make breakfast while you sleep.

All you need is a slow cooker and a good recipe. Or skip the cooking part entirely and make overnight oats in the fridge.

    3. Organize/delete photos on your phone while waiting in long lines.

Because no one should ever find out how many selfies you took before settling on the perfect one to share.

    4. Work out while you do laundry.

Do squats with a heavy laundry basket, wall squats while you fold, and bursts of cardio while you wait for the washer to finish. See more tips here.

    5. Tidy up your desk whenever you're put on hold during a phone call.

Because that stack of papers isn't getting any smaller, and being productive might help quell your rage about waiting for 20 minutes to talk to a human.

    6. When you're making a recipe in the crock pot, make a few extra batches at the same time and freeze them.

    Get recipe ideas here.

    7. Call your parents while walking your dog.

No more guilt trips at the holidays.

    8. Curl your hair while you sleep.

    9. Use dictation software to create blog posts or emails when you're in the car.

Try Dragon Dictation and finally finish your novel.

    10. Write emails to friends when you're sitting on the train or bus.

They'll be thrilled to hear from you, and your commute will fly by.

    11. Wear your workout clothes as pajamas.

It makes your morning workout routine that much easier, and yoga pants are comfy as hell. Bonus: less laundry!

    12. Do the dishes while your meal is cooking.

It'll make the baking/simmering/roasting time go by that much faster.

    13. Go jogging outdoors when you move to a new city so you can learn your way around.

Get even better acquainted with your new locale by changing up your route each time.

    14. Store your kids' hard plastic toys in mesh lingerie bags; then toss them in the dishwasher when you're doing dishes.

Just leave out the Barbies; their hair is not dishwasher-safe.

    15. If one of your go-to recipes contains several dry ingredients, measure out enough for several batches and put in individual plastic baggies the next time you make it.

This is especially useful with soup recipes that have a lot of spices. Get more ideas for DIY food mixes here.

    16. Have your tweets read to you while you're getting ready in the morning or driving to work.

    This app makes it possible.

    17. Make your grocery list while sitting at the laundromat.

Rather than mindlessly scrolling through Facebook for 40 minutes, browse recipes, make a meal plan, and write up your list.

    18. Work out while you watch TV.

    Get more TV-themed workouts here.

    19. Listen to audiobooks or podcasts while you're commuting.

You'll be a much smarter and more interesting person by the time you get to work.

    20. Get yourself one of these.

    Breakfast would be a breeze!

    21. Do like this kiddo.

    That's some damn good multitasking.
