Can We Guess Your Exact Age Based On Your Taste In Hip-Hop

You’re pretty wet behind the ears when it comes to hip-hop, and you can’t wrap your mind around people who purchase music. But that’s OK, because hip-hop is a youthful genre. You push the culture forward. But that also means you missed out on where hip-hop has been and aren’t too familiar with the history. Remember, nothing is new under the sun, so check out some other eras! You might see something similar to what your favorite new artists are doing.

You have a pretty youthful ear when it comes to hip-hop and that’s dope because there’s a lot fun stuff is happening right now. It’s pretty archaic to purchase a physical copy of an album. You’re not big on lyrics but if the beat is bangin' it’s lit! Keep in mind that you can’t know where you’re going until you know where you’ve been. So check out some classics, too!

You have a youthful ear when it comes to hip-hop, but you also came up listening to the artists that a lot of these new artists draw their inspiration from. You obviously can still dab and hit them folks with the best of ’em, AND you know the difference between the original and the new running man. But you’ve still got some throwback playlists to make you feel like a kid again.

You definitely know what you like, and your taste is based off what you grew up liking. You can get a little nostalgic with the songs that were poppin’ when you were a teen. But you also know what the teens like. Some things are for you and some things aren’t. You’re able to coexist with the new school and the old school. You’ve got a couple more festivals and events in you!

You’ve grown up with a wide span of hip-hop music blasting in your headphones. You definitely know what you like and what you don’t like. When at a function you can turn up if you wanted to. But you'd rather not in most scenarios. It’s hard to believe the songs you grew up on are throwbacks, but so be it. Those songs will continue to stand the test of time.

You’re like a hip-hop connoisseur. Lyrics and beats are equally important. If a new artist doesn’t make a great impression on you the first time hearing them, chances are you won’t be listening to them again. You would thoroughly enjoy an ’00s-themed hip-hop party, and you wouldn’t really want to party with anyone who wouldn’t. That’s fair, but don’t miss out on some of these new artists carrying the torch!

You’ve become something of a hip-hop snob, TBH. You know what you like and you’ve grown up with enough eras of hip-hop to know that the ’90s is where it’s at. You wouldn’t waste your time talking to someone who isn’t familiar with Wu-Tang or A Tribe Called Quest. And you wouldn’t be caught at a hip-hop party if it wasn’t ’90s-themed. There’s a lot of dope new stuff out there too, so don’t be scared to give these new kids a chance!

You know exactly what you like and what you don’t like when it comes to hip-hop. You remember the four elements of hip-hop, and when MCs started verses with “yes, yes y’all.” Ahh, those were the days.
