1. In Riverdale, when Archie was saving Cheryl from drowning in Sweetwater River, K.J. Apa actually broke his hand while pretending to punch through the ice.

K.J. told TVLine, "I was punching a foam mat [that was] sitting on the ice. It was cold, so I didn’t really feel it. It wasn’t until 20 minutes after that I realized I broke my hand."

2. While filming Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay suffered a collapsed lung while performing a stunt that involved tackling someone.

In an interview, Mariska said that she knew something was wrong the minute she landed on the crash pad, but she ignored it. Months later, she was experiencing shortness of breath and learned that she had suffered a collapsed lung.

3. During Season 2 of Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul got a concussion when he was thrown through a screen door during a scene.

During a Reddit AMA, Aaron said, "The next thing I know, I guess, I blacked out and I woke up to a flashlight in my eyes and it was our medic. My eye started swelling shut, so they took me to the hospital."

4. While filming the series finale of Lost, Terry O'Quinn accidentally stabbed Matthew Fox with a real knife instead of a prop.

On the podcast Geronimo Jack's Beard, Jorge Garcia revealed that Terry had accidentally grabbed a real knife and stabbed Matthew. Luckily, Matthew was wearing a kevlar vest for protection underneath.

5. Similarly, while filming Dexter, Jimmy Smits almost stabbed a stuntman while he was tied to a table in classic Dexter fashion.

Instead of grabbing a prop knife, Jimmy accidentally grabbed a real one and almost fatally stabbed stuntman Jeff Chase. Jeff said, "I heard Michael C. Hall yelling at Jimmy to stop, but it was too late. I felt the thud in my chest." All of the plastic helped save his life.

6. While appearing on The Good Wife, a lighting fixture fell and landed on Kristin Chenoweth's head.

In an interview with People, Kristin said, "The set landed on me and kind of messed up my face, my nose, and my teeth. It threw me into a curb, so there was a skull fracture and some rib pain."

7. Matt LeBlanc dislocated his shoulder while filming the scene in Friends where Joey and Chandler fight over a chair.

In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Matt said that while jumping to sit in the chair, he accidentally missed and ended up landing on his arm. The accident was later written into the show.

8. During Season 5 of Arrow, Stephen Amell nearly broke his nose when he was kicked in the face.

Stephen Amell, who does a majority of his own stunts on Arrow, posted the picture on Facebook with the caption: "My face met a foot. Bad ass fight sequence. Totally worth it. Season 5!!"

9. Jared Padalecki broke his wrist while filming a stunt during Season 2 of Supernatural.

The writers ended up writing in that Sam had broken his wrist while fighting a demon in order to cover up Jared's cast.

10. In Game of Thrones, Rory McCann aka The Hound injured his knee while carrying a White Walker.

In an interview, Rory revealed that his knee was injured after having to carry the actor who portrayed the White Walker for several days.

11. Poldark star Aidan Turner was hit in the head by a boat while filming a scene with co-star Eleanor Tomlinson.

In an interview, Aidan said that they were filming a scene where Poldark lifts Demelza out of a boat in the actual sea. Suddenly, there was a giant wave and the boat hit Aidan in the head, causing him to drop Eleanor in the ocean.

12. While filming a stunt scene for Gotham, Ben McKenzie accidentally rammed his head into a concrete pillar.

On Instagram, Ben posted a series of photos showcasing the injury, saying, "Fight sequence gone awry. Don't ram your head into concrete pillars kids. Holy concrete wall, Batman!"

13. Both Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi suffered the exact same knee injury while filming stunts for Doctor Who.

In an interview, Peter said, "I have...exactly the same injury Matt had. When I first met Matt he was on crutches, and I asked, 'What happened to you?' And he said, 'This show mate.'"

14. While filming an action sequence for Quantico, Priyanka Chopra suffered a concussion after she slipped and fell.

In an interview with People, Priyanka said, "It was raining and the roads were wet and I was in rubber boots and we were running out of time [to film the scene]...Both of us [Priyanka and a fellow actor] fell and we were both rushed to the ER."

15. And finally, Nina Dobrev accidentally broke Paul Wesley's finger while filming a sex scene on The Vampire Diaries.

In an interview, Paul said, "Being the not-suave guy that I am, my thumb got bent back in a romantic scene where I slowly lowered Nina onto a bed. I was out of commission for a week."
