Luke Perry Will Officially Be Honored During The "Riverdale" Season 4 Premiere

"Probably the most important episode of Riverdale we'll do this year, if not ever."

So, while we're still a few months away from the Riverdale Season 4 premiere, I think it's safe to say that fans should start buying tissues now.

Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa just revealed that the Season 4 premiere will officially be a tribute to Luke Perry, who died earlier this year, and his character Fred Andrews.

Roberto also wrote the episode, which will be titled "In Memoriam."

Shortly after the announcement, several cast members commented expressing how bittersweet filming the premiere will be.

Roberto had previously told EW that the reason Luke's death wasn't addressed in Season 3 was because they "didn't want to rush that [the tribute episode] or get it wrong."

He continued saying that everyone on Riverdale wanted to create an episode that would properly "honor the character of Fred and honestly, to honor the actor Luke and our friend Luke."

Basically, I'm already sobbing over the Season 4 premiere and the thought of having to say goodbye to Luke and Fred.

Riverdale Season 4 premieres Wednesday October 9 at 8/7c on The CW.
