At the end of every year, IMDb announces the most anticipated new movies and TV shows that fans from around the world can't wait to watch the following year.

So naturally I'm interested to know which movies and shows YOU are very excited for in 2022 based on their top 10 lists. Here we go:

Most anticipated new movies of 2022, according to IMDb:

The Batman:

Starring Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, and more, The Batman follows Bruce Wayne in his second year of fighting crime as Batman. In this movie, he pursues the Riddler, a serial killer who has been targeting Gotham City's elite. Soon, Batman is forced to make new alliances in order to bring justice to his beloved city.

Scream:

Set 25 years after a string of brutal and horrific murders shocked the small down of Woodsboro, a new killer is now wearing the iconic Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers in order to resurrect secrets from the town's past. The movie will feature the return of iconic Scream cast members like Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and more.

Thor: Love and Thunder:

Directed and written by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder will pick up after we last saw Thor, Valkyrie, and more in Avengers: Endgame. While there aren't many specifics about the plot available just yet, we know that Natalie Portman will be returning as Jane Foster and she will assume the role as Mighty Thor from the comic books. Also, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be making an appearance and Christian Bale has been cast as Gorr the God Butcher.

Top Gun: Maverick:

Tom Cruise returns as Maverick in this follow up to the original Top Gun from 1986. Top Gun: Maverick will follow Peter "Maverick" Mitchell as he continues to serve as one of the Navy's top aviators while also training a new class of courageous test pilots.

Killers of the Flower Moon:

 Directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, and Lily Gladstone, the movie follows members of the Osage tribe in the US who are shockingly murdered under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s. Killers of the Flower Moon follows the FBI investigation following the murders, which involved J. Edgar Hoover.

Jurassic World: Dominion:

Set four years after the events of Jurassic World: Fall Kingdom, this movie picks up when genetically engineered dinosaurs are being auctioned off around the world. Jurassic World: Dominion will not only feature the returns of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as Owen and Claire, but this time they will be joined by original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and more.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness:

Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Loki, and WandaVision, Doctor Strange is now dealing with his biggest threat yet: the multiverse. With unspeakable evil now entering our world, Doctor Strange seeks out Wanda Maximoff's help. The movie will also introduce us to America Chavez. 

Mission: Impossible 7:

Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt in the seventh installment to the Mission: Impossible franchise. Alongside Cruise, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Frederick Schmidt will all repirse their roles alongside new cast members Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Cary Elwes, and more. 

Uncharted:

Based on the best-selling video game series, Uncharted follows Nathan Drake, who is on his first treasure hunting adventure alongside Sully Sullivan. The duo are looking to uncover "the greatest treasure never found" and also track clues that could lead to Nathan's long-lost brother.

The Flash:

Ezra Miller returns as Barry Allen/The Flash in this new solo movie from DC. The movie is said to follow Barry as he travels back in time to try and prevent his mother's murder. Of course, this brings about unintended consequences to the timeline as we know it. Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, and more will also star in The Flash.

House of Dragon:

Based on George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood, the series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. House of the Dragon will tell the story of House Targaryen and how they are the most powerful house that eventually lost it all.

The Lord of the Rings:

The series is set thousands of years before J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers on a journey where great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, and unlikely heroes were tested. With a massive ensemble cast of characters — both familiar and new — The Lord of the Rings will follow them as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth.

In 1916, Morpheus was captured during a ritual and after being held capitvie for 105 years, he has finally escaped. Now, he's setting out to restore order to his kingdom of the Dreaming. Tom Sturridge stars as Morpheus alongside Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer and many more.

The Last of Us:

Based on the beloved video game series, The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. The series follows Joel, a hardened survivor, who is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of a quarantine zone. What begins as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they travel across the US and depend on others for survival.

Obi-Wan Kenobi:

Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as the iconic Jedi in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The series is set to follow Obi-Wan as he's watching over Luke Skylwaker on Tatooine. Set around 10 years after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, we will learn even more about Obi-Wan and Darth Vader — who will once again be played by Hayden Christensen — in the years leading up to Star Wars: A New Hope.

She-Hulk:

Tatiana Maslany will bring Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, to life in this newest Marvel series for Disney+. While we learn more about Jennifer Walters, we'll also see more of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, who is her cousin. The series is also set to star Tim Roth, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Ginger Gonzaga, and Jameela Jamil. 

Ms. Marvel:

Marvel / Disney+

Ms. Marvel tells the story of Kamala Khan, who is a massive fan of the Avengers, especially Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Kamala is constantly struggling to fit in until she gains powers of her very own. Iman Vellani will star was Kamala/Ms. Marvel and this will lead directly into The Marvels, which will hit theaters in early 2023.

Peacemaker:

John Cena reprises his role from James Gunn's The Suicide Squad in Peacemaker. The series will explore the originals of the character and how he became a man who uses his strength to regain peace and control, no matter how many people he has to kill to achieve this. 

And finally, Moon Knight:

Marvel / Disney+

Starring Oscar Isaac, Moon Knight is set to follow Marc Spector, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. Suddenly, Marc is drawn into a deadly war of gods with his multiple identities.
