Last year, President Obama became the first American president to witness these glorious Republic Day celebrations.

This year, it promises to be even better with 36 of the 1,200 dogs in the Indian Army participating in the march.

While badass canines are often included in celebrations in other parts of the country, like these cuties from the Indian Railway Protection Force in Secunderabad last year, it's been 26 years since any dog participated in the grand parade at Rajpath.
