Wedding planning portal WedMeGood spoke to a handful of brides-to-be about Indian beauty standards, specifically those surrounding weight and weddings.
Brides Anshuma, Zenden and Tanvi and plus-sized model Shivani were treated to a day of primping and pampering.
But while they were getting dressed, they got real about being big girls in a skinny-biased world.
They spoke about how the normal objectification of women increases drastically as your wedding come closer.
And about random uncles and aunties doling out free advice and insults as if they own your body.
“You are beautiful just the way you are,” says one of them. "It’s your day. Understand and internalise the fact that every bride is special."
