You arrive for a pleasant evening at your good friend Count Winklerump's manor. However, there are some unexpected guests tonight. There's **Countess Eliza Winklerump,** the Count's newest wife — a bit on the young side, but who are you to judge? To her side is **Sal Winkelrump**, the Count's surly teenage son. Across from you is **Doctor Medico,** a charming GP, and **Sandra Lottalegs** — the Countess's best friend and an artisanal gardener. Dinner is served: a hot venison. The Count immediately tucks in.
 


The Start!

What a delightful venison! You must ask for the recipe. After tucking in, you excuse yourself to go to the bathroom. While in the bathroom, you hear a high-pitched scream coming from the next room. 

Eat food

"Lovely weather we're having," you say. No one cares. You excuse yourself to go to the bathroom. While in the bathroom, you hear a high-pitched scream coming from the next room. 

Make small-talk

You enter the library to see **Sandra Lottalegs** standing over — gasp — **the Count's** body! The **Countess**, **Sal**, and the **Doctor** rush in. The **Doctor** reaches for the **Count's** pulse on his neck, to no avail. "He's been murdered!", **Sandra** cries. 


Invesitgate

You sprint away from the manor as fast as you can. However, a shadowy figure had the same idea. You barely see the knife before it plunges into your heart. Oh no. 

Run away

"Hello," you say to **Sandra**, in-between her sobs. 

Ask Sandra questions

There are no physical signs of harm on the body. However, you catch a glint of gold on his lapel: One of the **Countess**'s earrings. 

Look for clues on the body

"How dare you?!?!!" **Sandra** shrieks. She physically pushes you out the manor. You try to get back in a side entrance but, alas, you trip over a sprout and perish. 

Accuse her of murder

 "He was already dead by the time I found him," **Sandra** says. "I saw a figure running out the room — but I couldn't make out who they were."

Ask her what she saw

"I met him through the **Countess**," she sniffles. "He was usually holed up working on something with the **Doctor**. I barely knew him. Although I did once get him a rare orchid from my garden. It matched his eyes." 

Ask Sandra about her relationship with the Count

You look around the room. **Sal** and the **Countess** are sitting on the chaise lounge, looking stunned.

Interview someone else

"Hello, Salmon," you say, approaching the young lad. 
"Don't call me that," he replies.

Interview Sal

The Countess pulls you into a hug. "I do hope we can find who did this," she says. 

Interview the Countess

"Okay, we may have had a little fondle every now and again," she lowers her voice. "But that doesn't mean I killed him! I came in here to tell him it was over."

Accuse Sandra of having an affair

"It's a bit grim, isn't it?" **Sal** says, gazing down at the body. "Sorry, I think I'm in shock. You know, he almost cancelled tonight. Him and **Doctor Medico** got in this huge argument last night, I could hear them through my bedroom door. Now, look at him. Guess his fighting days are over."


Ask Sal how he's feeling

He sighs. "Things haven't been easy since the **Countess** moved in. I could see her turning him against me — he used to be so supportive about my tap dancing career. He had a terrible temper — he was screaming with the **Doctor** just last night. Plus, I never quite forgave him for naming me after a fish. But I loved him, you know? He's still my dad."

Ask Sal about his relationship with his father

This manor is actually pretty creepy. You walk up the stairs, the rail cool against your hand. You reach a hallway with a door on your left and a door on your right. Which one do you choose?

Explore the house

"What do you think I am, Hamlet?!" he roars. You try to make the point that he's gotten the plot line of "Hamlet" wrong, accidentally waving your hand into a suit of armor as you do so. It tumbles, and you perish. 

Accuse Sal of murder

"Oh, it was like a dream," she says, tears glistening. "Love at first sight. I'll always remember the day we met at that tomato throwing festival. We reached for the same fruit. Of course, every marriage has its difficulties. He'd been spending an awful lot of time with the **Doctor** working on their new project, though I thought that would end after their row last night. I always thought he indulged in **Sal's** tap dancing a little too much. Still, I loved him! He even gave me an orchid, just last week."

Ask her about her relationship with the Count

"He was an argumentative man," the **Countess** concedes. "But such is the nature of great men. Look at him and the **Doctor**. Just last night they were rowing, now they're back to having dinner as usual."

Ask the Countess if the Count had any enemies

"How dare you tell me such lies? I want you out the house this second," the Countess yells. You oblige. However, as you walk out the house, you see a shadow in the corner of your eyes. A firm pair of hands shove you from behind, pushing you to the ground. You perish. 

Tell the Countess her husband had an affair

You appear to be in the **Count**'s study. You walk up to his desk, illuminated by candle light. You see one envelope marked "will" and another marked "business."

Door

You find a letter addressed to the **Count**'s lawyer, unsent. "Dearest Hal. I would like to amend my will and leave the manor to the Countess — instead of my son."

Examine the "will" envelope

You find a series of drawings of some kind of machine marked with the **Doctor**'s signature. Next, a letter that appears to show the Count selling the design to a rather large corporation — for a huge sum you can't quite believe. 

Examine the "business" envelope

You gather everyone in a circle in the dining room. It is time for you to make a decision.

You almost walk straight into the **Doctor**. "Need a hand, chap?" he asks. 

Go back into the hall

"A small dispute," he says. "We were engaged in a project for a machine I believe will change the world: Printable ice. He wanted to steal the patents to some large company, can you imagine? However, nothing out of the ordinary. Such is the cost of doing business with a dear friend."

Ask the Doctor about his relationship with the Count

"It would have been a very rare poison, to leave such little trace," he says. "Outside of a hospital, it would only be found in the rarest of gardens — for those who are looking."

Ask the Doctor about the Count's death

"For the love of god, a man has just died!" the **Doctor** roars. Out of sheer awkwardness, you turn to the stairs to leave. Alas, you trip on your shoelace and do not survive the tumble.

Ask the Doctor about a mole on your leg

Oh no, the real murderer escaped! Looks like you didn't quite get all the clues right.

Name Sal as the murderer

Name the Countess as the murderer

"Fine, it was me!" the Doctor cried. "I found the poison in my hospital supply. I even planted one of the Countess's earring on the Count's body to try and convince you otherwise. But you would do the same! Your greatest design, stolen by a miserable Count for a project you were supposed to complete together! An easy price to pay!"
