Are you actually a thief by everyone else's standards?

Is This Stealing?

You put an avocado through the self-checkout as an onion and save yourself £1 at the supermarket. Is that stealing?

You borrowed something from a friend and mean to give it back, but keep forgetting. They haven't asked for it back yet, but you would give it back if they did. Have you stolen their thing?

A friend leaves something at your house. You ask them to pick it up but they never do, and it's been there for months now. If you just accept it as your own possession, is that stealing?

What if you just don't tell them they forgot their thing and keep it, is that stealing?

You post something on your Instagram that isn't your work. You state in the caption that it isn't your work but don't link or give the name of the artist. Is that stealing?

The cashier doesn't notice that one of your purchases didn't scan and puts it into your bag anyway. You notice but don't say anything, and don't have to pay for it. Is that stealing?

You repeat a joke in real life that you read somewhere online and people think you made it up. You don't correct them. Is that stealing?

You take someone else's coat when leaving a restaurant by mistake. It's actually much nicer than yours, so you decide to keep it and make no effort to return it to its rightful owner. Is that stealing?

You buy something on sale but decide to return it. When returning, it somehow goes through as full price and you're refunded double what you paid. You notice this as the cashier is doing it but don't say anything. Is that stealing?

A coworker is on holiday for two weeks. They left their butter in the communal fridge, which will expire in two weeks. Is it stealing if you use their butter while they're gone?

You buy something online, it doesn't arrive for weeks, so you ask for a refund because you assume it's lost in the mail. As soon as you get the refund, your item arrives but you don't tell the seller. Is that stealing?

You buy a drink in a coffee shop and then help yourself to way more sugar sachets than you need so you can use them later. Is that stealing?

You buy something at the corner shop and the cashier gives you way too much change. You notice but don't say anything. Is that stealing?
