If You Need To Know What Happened To Connell And Marianne, This Two-Part Special Is For You

This is the best news I've heard all week.

Apparently there is, in fact, some good left in the world because two more episodes of Sally Rooney's Normal People are on the way.

ICYMI, the hit TV series has gotten viewers all over the world hooked on Marianne and Connell's love affair, which spans their high school and university years.

And the show's cliffhanger ending sent Twitter into a tailspin, discussing whether the two characters *actually* ended up together.

Connell and Marianne are soulmates and that’s that. They can’t succeed with other people because they’re not meant to. Their connection survived Sweden. It will survive New York. I’d go to the mat with Sally Rooney on this one. #NormalPeople

That’s it??? Noooo!! 😭 I wanna know what happens next. My god, what a beautiful, sad and yet real journey. I want to think that they’ll always find a way back to each other... There’s no way they won’t. #NormalPeople

i like to watch these happy moments with connell and marianne and think that this is how they lived after the series ended. happy. content. together. #NormalPeople https://t.co/j79vZKnlEr

Well, hold onto your silver chains, because it was just announced that a two-part special, entitled Normal Older People, will be released this week.

Set 40 years from now, the episodes will shed light on what happened to Marianne and Connell — and honestly, this is giving me some serious feelings.

Created for TV fundraiser RTÉ Does Comic Relief, the two-part special will see the show's stars, Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones, reprise their roles as Connell and Marianne.

The fundraiser is set to air on RTÉ in Ireland and Northern Ireland on Friday 26 June 2020 — but it's still unclear whether the eps will be broadcast to the rest of the world.

Here's hoping that the rest of the world gets a chance to watch it — and that Connell's majestic chain makes another appearance.
