7 Creepy "Harry Potter" Theories

Some people have darker imaginations than Voldemort...

1. Hogwarts is Imaginary

This theory starts off similar to the original story- Harry Potter is a young orphan who is sent to live with his abusive relatives. However, in this version, Harry is driven to insanity from the weight of losing his parents and being mistreated. He imagines a world where he is a magical hero who defeats an evil dictator. His friend Ron has the big loving family he never had, and his friend Hermione is his brainy sidekick. All of the books are simply figments of a poor boy's imagination.

2. Harry, Ron, Hermione, & Neville Are the New Marauders

The Marauders were able to create a map that can detect invisibility cloaks and even became Animagi, all while teenagers. This theory says that Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville were basically modern versions of the Marauders who used their skills to save the world. Hermione is brainy like Lupin, Ron is loyal like Sirius, and Harry is brave like his father James. Neville is like Peter before he turned to the dark side- clumsy and lacking in self-confidence, but good-hearted.

3. The Bubble Gum Wrappers Were Communication Devices

When Neville visits his parents in the mental hospital, his mother gives him bubblegum wrappers. This theory proposes that Neville is actually communicating with his mother through the wrappers.

4. Draco Was In Love With Harry

This theory suggests that Draco Malfoy had a schoolboy crush on his rival- Harry. This is why he always targeted Harry- he did not want anybody to get suspicious, and believed that insulting Harry as much as possible was the perfect way to keep his love a secret. In the end, he tries to help Harry at the manor. Also, Dobby speaks of how he has heard such great things about Harry... Where did he hear these things from?

5. Draco Sent Dobby to Protect OR Hurt Harry

There are two theories involving Dobby.

1) Malfoy secretly wants to help Harry, and sends his house elf to protect Harry at all costs.

2) Malfoy doesn't want Harry to return to school, and sends Dobby to try and stop Harry from attending Hogwarts under the pretense of protecting him. Dobby even tries to get him expelled. However, Dobby soon begins to love Harry and eventually wants to protect him.

6. Harry Can't Die

This one is dark. When Voldemort killed the horcrux in Harry, Harry had a choice- return to the real world or ride a train into death. He returns to the real world, sacrificing his death. "One must die at the hands of the other..." Harry can't die anymore, because Voldemort can't kill him. He achieved what Voldemort always wanted- immortality.

7. The Wizarding World is Real

This one's arguably the most ridiculous one. In this theory, JK Rowling is basically Rita Skeeter. She protested the dictator ways of the ministry and was banned from the wizarding world. In retaliation, she wrote about everything that was going on in the wizarding world and published a series of books about it- the Harry Potter series.
