Sisqó Finally Addressed Beyoncé Dating Rumors From The Early, Early Aughts

Beyoncé is in the news for anything nowadays.

I didn't have Sisqó clearing the air about dating Beyoncé on my bingo card — but here we are.

The silver-headed '90s legend has been on people's minds lately for the oddest reasons.

First, the creepy clown Sweet Tooth in the new Peacock show Twisted Metal was randomly obsessed with the "Thong Song," and it left me scratching my head and dancing along.

And now, during an interview with Gloria Velez for an episode of her new VladTV podcast, the Dru Hill singer responded to an interesting question about his past friendship with Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

Gloria asked Siqsó if there was something more stemming from their chemistry at the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, while suggesting that Beyoncé was "googly-eyed" over the silver-maned singer.

It's the matching outfits for me.

The former video vixen explained that she meant before Beyoncé was married, and then I immediately peeped Sisqó's motion to cut before answering the question.

"No! We were friends," Sisqó responded. "Me and Beyoncé never dated, but we were just friends when we were younger because we were on a lot of the same tours because we came out around the same time."

"I believe they came out in '97, and [Dru Hill] came out in '96. So we were friends. I knew her dad and her mom and sister and stuff," he added.

Beyoncé was a member of Destiny's Child (originally Girls Tyme until 1997) before she eventually went solo in 2003, two years before the group officially disbanded.

Sisqó was a member of the R&B boy band Dru Hill, which started in 1996, until the group fell apart in 1999, leading Sisqó to release his solo project and greatest achievement, Unleash the Dragon, with the hit single "Thong Song."

When Gloria commented, "It sounds pretty damn close," Sisqó added that once the infamous 2014 Met Gala elevator altercation happened (involving Beyoncé, her sister Solange Knowles, and Jay-Z), Solange allegedly had an interesting response that included a Sisqó shoutout.

"All I know is when Elevatorgate happened, Solange posted a picture of us," he said. "I'll just leave it at that. Then she promptly erased it. It was erased the next day."

According to MTV, when the "Cranes in the Sky" singer shared the photo, the caption hinted that she would delete the picture, "and it's not because I don't love sisqo's awesome guitar."

In the end, the only person 100% checking for Sisqó was this incredibly creepy bareback clown.
