The latest installment in The Ultimatum franchise featured queer and nonbinary participants with one decision on their hands: Will they marry their partner by the end of the show after spending time with someone who fits their relationship needs?
Fans, including myself, instantly fell for the cast and their various storylines before Episode 1 even concluded. But it was the clear difference of communication styles that really stood out between this series and its predecessors. For most involved, they laid their hearts on the line and didn't care who was around to hear it.
And despite some couples getting engaged by the season finale, a lot had changed between them by the time the reunion rolled around.
Here's a quick refresher of which couples stayed together and which ones went their separate ways:
Vanessa Papa and Xander Boger
Aussie Chau and Sam Mark
Tiff Der and Mildred Woody
Rae Cheung-Sutton and Lexi Goldberg
Mal Wright and Yoly Rojas
And here's what fans on Twitter thought about this season and the finale:
The Ultimatum Queer Love is probably the most quality trashy television I’ve ever watched and we need 10,000 more seasons immediately
Everyone hating on Vanessa for coming into The Ultimatum Queer Love horny to date the hotties when Mildred has a genuine domestic violence problem pic.twitter.com/JmQHMEljdw
Mal from the Ultimatum Queer Love has got to be the most effective and loving communicator I’ve ever seen on reality tv. I’m crying at the scene w her and Yoly! “I knew you lifetimes before” are You joking please 😩😩😩 pic.twitter.com/hxcvvPN7EA
Can’t get over Yoly going to see Xander without the engagement ring. “I wanted to see where you were at.” Bitch you’re ENGAGED. That’s where YOU’RE at. Disrespectful as hell to Mal and Xander. #TheUltimatumpic.twitter.com/AgMgicJrH8
the ultimatum queer love was truly the most entertaining dating show of the year and we need queer seasons of all the other shows now. the straights have had their time. #theultimatumpic.twitter.com/HXr735NanM

I’m so sad after watching the reunion of the ultimatum: queer love. It was completely irresponsible of @netflix to invite Mildred onto the episode. There’s no way that they didn’t know she was arrested for domestic violence. I’m here for mess, but not like that.
I’ve been trying so hard not to tweet about the ultimatum but no one is talking about the most alarming thing… why are all these women getting in bed with their outside clothes on??????????????????
The Ultimatum Queer Love was a failed experiment but I definitely think watching it will give people a realistic look at what to expect if they decide to open up their relationships instead of just breaking up
