Snooki Opened Up About Being Adopted And Wanting To Meet Her Biological Family

“I couldn’t even imagine how they felt giving me up, but thank you for that.”

As a dedicated Jersey Shore fan since it premiered in 2009, I've learned a lot about Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi.

Like, how her love for pickles is unmatched.

And no matter how old she gets, she'll always be down for a good time.

But something else about her, which she's talked about before, is that, though she was raised by Italian parents, Snooki was actually adopted from Chile.

In her most recent Vlog post, the 30-year-old reality star spoke candidly about her feelings on being adopted and how she found out.

Snooki started off by giving a little background story of where the adoption took place.

I was adopted at six months from Santiago, Chile. And I was adopted by Helen and Andrew Polizzi. They flew all the way to Chile to come pick me up and they said right when they saw me they said I was like, "Mama, Dada!" So it was meant to be, things just work out that way — it’s called fate. I was always meant to be with my adoptive parents. Which I don't even — Eww i hate saying "adoptive parents" because they're my parents. It's weird. It doesn't affect me like other adopted kids, I guess. I'm just very content with it.

And whenever people ask her how she identifies, she says she feels like she's both: "My nationality is Chilean, but I grew up Italian."

She also admitted her parents never really had to sit her down and have "the talk" with her — she knew in her heart she was adopted.

When she turned 16, Snooki finally began to wonder about her birth family. Unfortunately, whenever she tried to ask her parents about her biological family, "they would get upset."

Luckily, when she was in her early 20s, she managed to get her dad to spill the beans on her adoption story after giving him a few drinks.

Eventually, when I was 21 or 22 I got my dad drunk and was like, "Dad, can you just tell me what went on? Why was I up for adoption?" And basically, my birth parents had other {children} and they couldn’t afford me. I can’t even imagine, because I have two kids...putting a child up for adoption to give them a better life. That’s so amazing for them. That shows how much they loved me.

I could never do that. I could never do that. I can't even imagine how they felt giving me up...but, thank you for that.

And now that she's older and a mother herself, Snooki revealed she would "definitely want to meet" her birth family.

I hope you can find a way to make it happen, girl!
