Both Dylan and Barbara announced their engagement on Instagram, accompanied by a futuristic shoot they did with V Magazine and an exclusive interview by none other than Dylan's twin brother, Cole Sprouse.

"With the power invested in V I am a Sprouse to be 👰🏻‍♀️@dylansprouse 💍🤍," captioned Barbara on Instagram...

...while Dylan added this comment to his post: "Sprouses to be. @realbarbarapalvin."

The two have been together for five years now, but when they initially met, it took months before they actually went on a date.

"We’ve been dating for five years, officially, but we actually met like eight months before at an event," Barbara told V Magazine. "That was just a short interaction and then I ghosted him for six months until I got myself back into the picture."

But Dylan said what truly bonded them was their mutual appreciation for roasting each other. He admitted he didn't stand a chance against Barbara's playful insults. It left a lasting impression on them both.

They then went their separate ways for six months until Barbara contacted Dylan to hang out. Unfortunately, Dylan was in the middle of filming a project and was expected to be in China for the next six months. Barbara initially booked a modeling gig out there and planned to meet Dylan there, until the job got canceled.

"I said, 'Hey, why don’t we jump out on a romantic limb and just do what we were planning to do anyway? I’ll fly you out and we can hang out in Beijing,'" Dylan told V Magazine. "She was like, 'I would love that, but I’ll buy my own ticket.' Which I thought was pretty cool."

And they've been attached at the hip ever since. Dylan proposed in September, but Barbara said she knew she wanted to marry him as soon as they started dating.

They plan to get married in Hungary, where Barbara was born and raised. Although they're both excited to exchange vows, Dylan revealed that he's a little "nervous about the event." As for Barbara, not so much.

"I think the definition of marriage is very different for our generation than what it meant for the previous one," Dylan added. "For me, at least, marriage is a promise of kind of loving you endlessly, and being your partner."

Barbara added, "I’m really not nervous about getting married. I think the engagement stressed me more than the wedding. I mean, a man has time to prepare for the proposal — Dylan kept the ring for seven months before he asked the question."

Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. Sprouse!
