Let's go back to 2009.
We were in the midst of a recession.
Everyone was afraid of Lady Gaga.
People wore things called "bumpits."
And Justin Bieber was like 2 years old and posed with puppies.
One person in particular had the *blogs* in a chokehold like no other, and that person was Nadya Suleman.
Her nickname was "Octomom."
For those unfamiliar with the sitch, Nadya had octuplets via in vitro fertilization (IVF). She was implanted with 12 embryos and ended up with eight children.
Nadya already had six children before she got IVF, and then she had eight more. She was also unemployed.
People were very, very unhappy with this fact.
Her life became a spectacle.
And eventually things spiraled out of control, and shit was in shambles.
Nadya sold milkshakes.
She did celebrity boxing matches.
Advocated for PETA.
Participated in roasts.
And even did porn.
Her life was chaos.
But we're now 13 years past that, and Nadya has an active Instagram presence.
Honestly, she seems well.
The octuplets are 13 years old now.
They're teens!
Here's what she posted for their 13th bday:
"My family’s life literally revolves around God, food, and fitness (in that exact order lol)," she says.
In case you didn't do the math, Nadya has 14 children total.
They also have a cat named Penelope.
In a recent IG comment, she said their connections are "stronger than ever."
Things seem good at the Suleman household...
...or as good as things can be with 14 kids, LOL.
Definitely more chill than they were 13 years ago!
