It all started innocently enough with an early-morning Halsey tweet about eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Jet lag, an ode to thee. it’s 3:30 am and I am eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I have written 3 tv pilots. One is good. Should I do my laundry? My dog thinks it’s breakfast time. I’ve deceived him.
People were confused.
They were surprised that peanut butter and jelly is a thing.
Halsey was bombarded with "ews." She responded to the harsh PB&J criticism:
The amount of people tweeting “ew” about a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is staggering..... is that not a thing outside North America??????
The PB&J hate continued.
The Australians got involved:
The British chimed in:
Insults started getting thrown. It's war.
The British tried to clarify that "jelly" is something else to them.
"Jelly" is "jello" to them.
Halsey was feeling very attacked.

Halsey ended the rebellion with a fair-enough tweet explaining the popularity of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in America.
It’s so funny cause I don’t know how to explain to u guys that PB&J is probs one of the most popular foods in America. like a lot of people ate them almost every single day growing up. I can’t believe it’s such blasphemy internationally
