Response to If Disney Princesses Were Moms:
Why are they all portrayed as stay at home moms? Nothing wrong with being at stay at home mom but did they ALL have to seem that way? Way to promote gender stereotyping. Couldn’t you show some as working moms with working mom issues? If you are going to modernize them in some aspects why did you keep archaic gender notions. Particularly when Some of these characters like Mulan, Merida and Tiana really don’t fit the stay at home mom bill and their stories were meant to in some ways go against gender norms.
Thanks for the praise buzzfeed. But #3 bothers me since we DONT actually live in the jungle…
The first one is definitely true click on the hyperlink and you’ll see why they say that. Even if you live in the city you are usually an hour or two tops from places to surf. And yeah San Jose is our capital and not that many Costa Ricans actually live in the city proper and it’s NOT more dangerous than DC or several othe US cities.
Response to 38 Maps You Never Knew You Needed:
#5 is wrong. I take it this is based on an article on The Telegraph? If you do your research properly before including a widely exaggerated map that was published in a British newspaper you would include some sort of explanation for the map. In fact that article makes it clear that the map uses a very broad sense of “invaded”. Being Costa Rican I can tell you it was never “invaded” in the common use of the word.
In fact the article specifies:
“So, many countries which once formed part of the Spanish empire and seem to have little historical connection with the UK, such as Costa Rica, Ecuador and El Salvador, make the list because of the repeated raids they suffered from state-sanctioned British sailors.” So since you fail to provide the citation and the citation, despite the fact that you should do your research and cite where you get your information here it is:
