1. After the stressful lead up to Christmas and the day itself, everyone is in a much better mood.
2. You've got nowhere to be so you don't have to get up early.
3. In between naps, you have time to properly play with the Christmas presents you got.
4. More often than not there will be some kind of all-in water fight to cool off.
5. And while you ~love~ your extended family, today is all about hanging out with your mates.
6. Which means there are a heap of BBQs to attend.
7. With all the leftover food you could possibly want.
Christmas ham and prawns for every meal followed by plate after plate of pav. That is living.
8. Plus the random assortment of booze left over from Christmas makes your day even better.
9. The TV is permanently on the Boxing Day Test.
10. If you're super keen you can make the trek to the MCG to really take it all in.
11. And just when you think you've had enough cricket for one day, there's always time for a backyard match.
12. There's also the stunning Sydney to Hobart.
13. If sport isn't your thing and you're feeling adventurous, there are end of year sales galore.
14. Or if you want to beat the heat in air-conditioned heaven, then there are heaps of great blockbuster movies to catch up on.
15. And if all of that doesn't sound tempting, you can just kick back for hours on end.
