1. Bridget Jones in the Bridget Jones’s Diary Series by Helen Fielding / Via fanpop

With our without our (er… I mean her) beloved Mark Darcy (though, admit it girls, we are Mad About the Boy), we’re mad about Bridget, and she’d be mad about this tapered baguette engagement ring with a princess shaped diamond. Bridget has always been a dreamer, but she’s not a showy one. At the end of the day, she just wants someone to love her and to save her from being eaten by Alsatians. Bridget would have adored the classic, traditional feel to this ring and the simplicity and commitment it symbolizes. I wouldn't be surprised if it would be engraved with the phrase: “Just the way you are.”

2. Becky Bloomwood in the Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella / Via photobucket

It’s no secret that Rebecca has a bit of problem controlling her spending habits. Our little shopaholic cares a lot about brand names, but she always remains tasteful. She would die for this sparkly designer three band solitaire swirl ring, and scrumptious Luke Brandon would make that possible. One of the things that makes Becky so charming is her creativity and eccentric ideas. She’s constantly giving out fashion advice and unafraid to share her ideas. That’s why she would be bold enough to go for this unusual, sleek stunner. Just as she had dreamed of being referred to as “the Girl in the Denny and George Scarf,” she would fantasize about being called “the girl in the Swirl Ring.”

3. Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger / Via

There’s nothing silly about Andrea Sachs. She doesn't take herself too seriously, and she certainly doesn't take fashion too seriously. Andy learned a lot from her affair with the Runway world and didn't like that it was changing her as a person. She realized that she wanted to retrieve her sanity and return to who she really is. Andy would prefer a safe, simple and subtle ring with a thin band. This solitaire comfort fit engagement ring would be perfect for her. Having experienced high fashion, she would appreciate its refined elegance.

4. Lottie in Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella / Via

Lottie has been known to be impulsive and rush into decisions. She would have been sure to choose wisely when it comes to her ring, though! She’s always been a starry-eyed romantic, and she would definitely have gone for the twisted pave shank contemporary ring. It has a dreamy, romantic feel to it and Lottie would adore how the band intertwines just like she and Richard are eternally intertwined. Sigh…

5. Fliss in Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella / Via

Fliss, Lottie’s older sister is pretty jaded and cynical. She’s experienced marriage, parenthood and divorce. You can’t blame her. She’s very protective of Lottie and of her cute little son Noah. Fliss would choose the modern tension ring. She would be drawn to its sharp edges, symbolizing her practical nature. The fact that the precious diamond seems to be hanging in mid-air would be a metaphor for the fact that Fliss needs to let go of her loved ones a bit and trust them to be more independent.

6. Rachel White in Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin / Via

Rachel is quiet, shy and modest. She’s also a sweetheart and a loyal friend. She’s tired of putting others’ needs ahead of her own (ahem, Darcy), and for once she decides to allow herself the happiness she deserves. Rachel would love this gorgeous six prong pave diamond ring. It’s classy, not too flashy, yet at the same time it’s brilliant and noticeable. It’s just right for her since it is subtly beautiful and modest.

7. Darcy Rhone in Something Blue by Emily Giffin / Via

Darcy is accustomed to getting what she wants, when she wants it. She’s spoiled, popular, and forever the leader. She’s always in the spotlight and needs everything to be perfect. She’s obsessed with her looks, self-centered and extravagant. Of course she’s also caring and loveable in her own way. Her heart would melt for this stunning three stone emerald and pave set diamond engagement ring almost as much as it melts for Ethan. With this ring, Darcy would always remain in the spotlight, just where she likes to be.

8. Emma Corrigan in Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella / Via

Emma Corrigan was in a stable, adult relationship, and satisfied with her life… until she thought that her plane was about to crash and she suddenly realized her deeper desires. Emma is often very stressed and bottles up her feelings. She’s also extremely optimistic and has a huge heart. Jack Harper notices every little thing about Emma. He would give her this twisted four prong engagement ring, as it fits her to the T. The ring embodies Emma’s softness and the twists and turns of the band symbolize the more mature person that Emma has grown into as well as the longings that she now understands and has fulfilled.

9. Emmy in Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger / Via

Emmy is nothing if not traditional. She always dreamed of a ring, a baby and a perfect wedding. She’s quite prudish and inexperienced with men. She’s sweetly naïve. After getting dumped by her long-term boyfriend for his younger personal trainer, she decides to make a change and tries to gain experience and become naughtier. This split shank pave set ring would make Emmy swoon, as it has a classic, traditional feel, while still being interesting and unique. It would remind her that she can leave her comfort zone and remain true to herself.

10. Leigh in Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger / Via

Leigh is a no-nonsense career-oriented woman who has trouble letting a man into her life in any real way. She’s a bit OCD, practical, responsible, and loves her alone time. Finally having found the right man who knows how to loosen her up, she would go for this tapered six prong filigree basket solitaire ring. Leigh is extremely independent and knows how to hold her own – the thick, sharp-edged band suits her, and the dip down towards the luminous diamond adds some femininity to the ring.

11. Adriana in Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger / Via

Adriana is spoiled, filthy rich, and drop-dead-gorgeous. She’s never had to work for anything a day in her life and is well aware that men fall at her feet everywhere she goes. Adriana has never hesitated to use her feminine wiles. Status is her god. She wouldn’t settle for anything less than this jaw-dropping three stone pave halo designer ring, which matches her sexy beauty. She would definitely show it off any chance she got.

12. Poppy Wyatt in I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella / Via

Poppy is charming, witty, bright and modest. She feels naked without her smart phone (as do most of us in this day and age). She’s also pretty awkward and insecure, and she tends to take other people’s opinions about her way too seriously. This dazzling pave set swirl ring with a rose gold basket would lure Poppy to it. The fragile feel of the pink diamond is reminiscent of Poppy’s dainty and endearing personality. Now she would feel naked without this ring, rather than without her phone!

13. Jemima Jones in Jemima J. by Jane Green / Via

Jemima is accustomed to being overweight and insecure. This has always left her feeling pretty much invisible and having a pessimistic view of the world. She never felt truly valued by her friends and it took time until she slowly gained more confidence and became more aggressive. Our girl Jemima would love the empowering feeling of prancing around like royalty with this emerald shaped blue sapphire head-turner on her finger. After years of feeling lonely and afraid, it would give her the extra courage to say “Here I am!”

14. Lara Lington in Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella / Via

Lara has a habit of letting her imagination run wild. When her great-aunt Sadie’s ghost appeared, she wondered if she was losing her mind. She has a low self-esteem and can’t seem to stand living in reality. This magical vintage inspired Fleur De Lis Diamond engagement ring would capture Lara’s heart, as did Sadie’s ‘20s flare and Ed’s warmth masked by a tough exterior.

15. Samantha Sweeting in The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella / Via

Samantha is a high-strung attorney who has little social life to speak of. Her family barely has time for her and always expects her to be perfect, as do all of her peers. When she finds herself escaping and falling into an unexpected situation, she learns a lot about herself. She’s very brave and takes a huge step which changes her life. This eye-catching oval shaped ruby ring shows the world that Samantha will be who she wants to be and will not give into what is expected of her. The ring is bold and audacious, just like Samantha has learned to become.
