Unknown Substance Sent To SBS Sparks Police Operation

All staff were notified of the substance found in reception.

A suspicious substance in a package has been discovered in SBS Sydney headquarters.

Police told BuzzFeed News that officers were sent to the broadcaster's office in Artarmon shortly after midday.

An email has also been sent to all staff informing them of the "small unknown substance in a package" and reassuring them it's a standard process to call police.


Last month, protestors in garbage trucks arrived outside the doors of SBS to protest against the making of the documentary series Struggle Street, which was a portrayal of life in outer western Sydney.
