    1. A robotic vacuum that'll constantly work to keep dust and dirt off the floor, including frustrating places like under the table and beneath furniture.

    Amazon, amazon.com

This moves easily between hard floors and low-pile carpets/rugs. It's here for you, ready to pick up all the dust, dirt, and hair you've been shedding while *you* go live your life.

Promising review: "I set it up to go around my house once a day while I'm at work and I have never been disappointed. The amount of cat hair and dirt/dust that it picks up everyday is disgusting. I LOVE IT. I couldn't believe that EVERY DAY there is that much dirt on my floor that I would have waited until the weekend to sweep or vacuum up. There is no longer the feeling of little bits of dirt on your feet while walking through the house barefoot. I highly recommend this vacuum for the price and for what we bought it for — to sweep/vacuum our hardwood floors and minimal carpets." —Allison Darrow

Get it from Amazon for $219.99 (available in two colors).

    2. An animal print doormat to trap dirt that would otherwise track into your home. Your parents made you take your shoes off as a kid for a reason, turns out.

    Leopard print natural doormat
    Hamlin Row

Promising review: "This is one of my favorite purchases to date for my new house! It’s super sturdy and appears just as the picture shows. The perfect size and addition to my front porch. It even arrived sooner than I was expecting. Thank you!!" —mkhalm26

Get it from Hamlin Row on Etsy for $19.60+ (available in four sizes).

    3. A microfiber dusting glove, because microfiber is the very best material to use when picking up pesky dust particles, and you're gonna see why when you use this! Whoever thought to turn a cleaning cloth into a glove is a true genius.

    Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "Do you hate having to dust around things? I know I do. This glove is ideal — you can just wipe away dust while easily maneuvering around odds and ends in your way. Because it’s your own hand inside the glove it’s also easy to maneuver over oddly shaped things like silk plants or blinds. I absolutely recommend this!" —Katherine Wise

Get it from Amazon for $14.99.

    4. A covered litter box for preventing kicked-up litter particles from ending up on every surface of your cat's "bathroom." Cat parents know — kitty litter is nature's greatest escape artist.

Covered litter box made of thick plastic with woven pattern, closed doggy door, and handle for carrying. It has a litter catcher step in front of the doggy door.
    Amazon

I have tried every DIY solution to create nice, hidden litter boxes that my cats enjoy. After moving into a slightly bigger place, all I wanted was a litter box that wouldn't track litter *everywhere.* This was the answer! The doggy door is lightweight and doesn't scare my cats and the tracking step catches SO much litter. It's also high quality, which is not always the case with "cute" boxes I have found. I heartily recommend this mighty fine feline toilet.

Promising review: "This has quickly become the favorite cat box in our home of nine felines. It looks lovely and it's very easy to clean compared to some of our other covered litter boxes. It's low to the ground and easily accessible for our five senior felines who have trouble climbing up into the standard litter boxes. I would love to purchase this again." —Dez

Get it from Amazon for $60 (available in two colors).

    5. A cordless air duster you can use to blast away built-on dust between tight crevices and corners.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "This packs a lot of punch in a tiny package. The battery life is around 25 minutes at a time. The air flow was intense and made the task easier. I used it to clean the doors which are hard to clean as dust accumulates inside vents (images pictured above, right). It came with two nozzle attachments — one is regular and other is with a brush. I wish there were more attachments to make the air flow narrower and thus more potent." —Karnail singh

Get it from Amazon for $79.99+ (available in two styles).

    6. A dry brush set because, and I hate to even bring this up, a quick Google search'll let ya know that 80% of dust is (ugh) dead skin cells. Start an exfoliating routine and let that nasty stuff go straight down the drain instead.

Small brush, hand brush, exfoliating gloves, and extension handle
    Amazon

This set includes two rough bristled brushes, a small one for hands, face, neck, and feet and a larger one for the rest of the body. It includes exfoliating gloves and a handle extension to brush hard-to-reach areas.

My Dyson in my living room. It is oval shaped with a small footprint and plugged into the wall.
    Mallory Mower / BuzzFeed

This works great with Alexa and it uses an app to monitor temperature, air quality, and humidity in the room it's placed in. Using the app, I was able to see that after moving, my suspicions were correct...my air quality was far worse in a previous apartment (nobody really cleans those pre-war buildings before you move in). This also saved the day when my heater wasn't working in my new apartment (ahhh, New York!). It kept my cat fam warm and now they basically live in front of it. The Dyson is their mom now.

Promising review: "I purchased to help with allergies (cat, pollen, dust mites) in the living room and have noticed a difference. Its automatic filtration kicks on when we're up and about, kicking up dust. The remote is wonderful and docks on the top of the unit with a magnet. The heater is pretty effective but can struggle to heat open layouts more than a few degrees above the ambient temperature." —N Adams
