1. The Buddy

The Buddy is one of the most beloved people in the attendance world. His or her charitable personality cannot stand to see colleagues losing time and pay just because they are stuck in traffic or too lazy to get out of bed. The buddy will gladly take the time card of those who are late or absent and punch it in for them. Bless this buddy’s kind heart.

2. The Ghost

There is that one time card that is always clocked in. Nobody has actually seen or heard about this person. Maybe this employee is the restless ghost that everyone is talking about near the water cooler to frighten the younger employees? We should ask the Buddy, The Buddy might know about this person…

3. The Olympic Runner

That quick employee who rushes in, busting through the doors, passing everyone down the hallway without a single hello, leaving a trail of dust behind, eyes intensely fixed on the time clock ahead. Instances of Olympic Runners are commonly seen within less than 2 minutes before start of the shift. To them, time is gold medal.

4. The Roundup

Notable for their obsession with the number 0. Roundups will do anything in their power to use these digits even if it was out of bounds. Roundups usually travel in groups and have the uncanny ability to work together to time-in on the dot even when it’s not. The very epitome of teamwork.

5. The Waiter

Waiters have mastered the art of patience and determination. They can typically be found standing directly in front of the time clock in what may feel like hours on end, to dig through their possessions in search of their card or timesheet and will hold their ground for as long as they can. They have a mutual relationship with the Roundups but are a bane to the Olympic Runners.

6. The Switcheroo

What the purpose of the Switcheroo is? Nobody knows. Some people say they are out to destroy everyone in their usual habit of being late and punching in someone else’s time card except their own. Some say they are just being absent-minded or maybe they just have weak vision. Whatever their true goal is, we can only guess and hope that we aren’t part of the Switcheroo’s sinister plan.

7. The Clone

Yes we’ve seen and met the Clone, but he holds so many time cards that we may never really be sure if he’s the same person we had lunch with yesterday. The Clone explains that the multiple time cards are a way for him to make sure he always has a back-up. “I just wish he’d stop wasting paper and making it difficult for us,” exclaimed the HR manager who also happens to be an environmentalist.
