Nike Gave "Back To The Future" Self-Tying Shoes To Michael J. Fox

And we're all, "Lemme get a pair."

What a time to be alive, people!

Today is a MAGICAL day. If you weren't aware, today (Oct. 21, 2015) is Back to the Future Day. What does this mean, you ask? It's the exact day that Marty McFly time-traveled to in the 1989 film Back to the Future II. Pretty cool, right?!

To celebrate the occasion, the geniuses over at Nike whipped up a pair of self-tying shoes. Yes, SHOES THAT TIE ALL BY THEMSELVES.

The shoes, which the company gifted to Michael J. Fox earlier today, are an exact replica of the ones his character wore in the film — only this time, they actually work.

This is real. This is today. Coming spring 2016. cc: @RealMikeFox @Nike

Along with the sweet kicks, Nike designer and Vice President for Design and Special Projects Tinker Hatfield Jr. sent Michael a note.

The letter I received from Tinker today. Thanks @Nike

"Hey Michael. Almost thirty years ago we embarked on a journey to create a glimpse into 'the future,'" the letter states. "Although the project started as science fiction, we're now proud to turn that fiction into fact."

So when can you snag a pair for yourself? The company says it will release the shoes in 2016 to help support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Take a look at Michael trying them on for the first time below. THE FUTURE IS NOW.
